Occasionally, certain phone models like the Yealink SIP-T57W may encounter an issue where the CNAM (Caller ID Name) does not appear on the phone’s BLF (Busy Lamp Field) display. Instead, the display might show blank or only show the "BLF" and extension, sometimes random numbers. This issue often arises due to the absence of the name field in the phone’s BLF settings, one reason can be the phone being unable to fetch the Extension Names automatically from the server.
Solution
To rectify this, you need to ensure that the displayed name is correctly set for each of the BLFs for that extension in the gTalk PBX admin panel. Here’s how you can do this:
- Navigate to the gTalk PBX admin panel.
- Go to the extension’s BLF configuration page.
- Set the displayed name for each of the BLFs for that extension.
Once this is done, reboot your phone. After the reboot, the CNAM should display correctly on your phone’s BLF.
